    ACTIONS IN THE EVENT OF AN INSURANCE EVENT

     

    In the event of a traffic accident (accident) that has signs of an insured event, the driver must turn on the hazard warning lights and not change the location of the cars involved in the accident until the incident is registered by the Police or using the Europrotocol.

    Install an emergency stop sign on the road and, without unnecessary necessity, do not move the car (or damaged objects). If you can, make efforts to reduce the damage and/or save the car (property). If there are victims as a result of the accident, immediately call an ambulance by dialing 103, if possible, provide first aid.

    Algorithm of actions for notifying the Insurer

    1. No later than one hour after the accident, without leaving the scene of the accident, call the 24-hour Dispatch Center of PJSC "IC "GRAWE Ukraine" at 044 354 5529 or 067 505 3013 (phone numbers are also specified in the contract) and inform the operator of the details of the accident and other information, at his request, about the circumstances of the accident (date, time and place of the accident, nature of the damage, insurance contract/policy number, etc.). Follow the operator's instructions, take photos and videos of the event from the scene.

    ATTENTION: Failure by the Insured and/or Driver to comply with the terms of the insurance contract regarding contacting the Dispatch Center from the place of occurrence of the insured event and subsequent written notification of the Insurer within the terms specified in the contract may be grounds for reducing the payment or refusing to pay insurance compensation.

    2. From the scene of the accident, notify the relevant state authorities (relevant police department, State Emergency Service, etc.) and wait for their arrival for the purpose of mandatory registration and processing of the event.

    101 – fire protection; 102 – police; 103 – ambulance. 

    Under the conditions: head-on collision, in the presence of injured persons, driving into the oncoming lane, overturning of the vehicle, driving outside the carriageway, exceeding the maximum permissible speed by 40 km/h, in the event of constructive death of the vehicle, at the request of representatives of state bodies involved in the insured event, - within 6 (six) hours after the moment of drawing up the accident report - the driver must contact a medical institution in order to obtain a certificate of alcohol, toxic or narcotic intoxication, the influence of medications, and in the territory of other states - to the relevant official bodies of these states, to carry out all other necessary procedures provided for by the Rules of the Road.

    Possibility of registering a road accident according to the Europrotocol

    In the event of a contact (collision) accident involving only two insured vehicles, provided that:

    • causing damage to property exclusively in the form of damage (destruction) to a vehicle (only cars are damaged);

    • no harm to the life and health of individuals (no injured or dead people); 

    • the absence of signs of alcohol, drug or other intoxication, or the influence of medications (drugs) that reduce attention and reaction speed in the drivers of both vehicles;

    • achieving agreement between drivers involved in the incident regarding the circumstances of the accident, 

    • the presence of valid (active) motor vehicle liability insurance policies by the owners of vehicles involved in the accident (policies can be checked on the website policy-web.mtsbu.ua/);

    drivers have the right, without involving the relevant units of the National Police of Ukraine, to jointly draw up a report on a road accident (Euro-protocol) for submission to the Insurer in paper or electronic form in accordance with the form and instructions approved by the MTIBU.

    The insurance contract may provide that if there are no injured persons and/or other participants in the accident as a result of the insured event, and the estimated cost of repairing the vehicle is up to 5% of the insured amount, or only glass parts are damaged, then contacting the relevant state competent authorities is optional. The recording of the occurrence of the insured event may be carried out by the Insurer or a person authorized by him. In this case, unless otherwise provided for by the contract, the application of these conditions is allowed no more than 2 (two) times during the term of the insurance contract. In the event that the Insured and/or the driver have already used two options without contacting the competent authorities, then in the event of subsequent accidents, contacting the competent authorities is mandatory, except in cases of drawing up a Europrotocol.

    The limit of liability of the Insurer without a certificate from the competent authority is limited to the limit established by the Insurance Contract!

    Recording the location and circumstances of the accident

    The driver must take photos and videos of the incident from the scene.:

    1. Use a camera or smartphone to take photos of the accident scene and damaged cars from several angles (a general view of the car at a 90° and 45° angle, as well as detailed photos of the damage to the car). Take a photo of the vehicle's state registration certificate.

    2. Record information about the participants and witnesses of the accident:

    • from the participants in the accident, the following information is required: full name, contact phone numbers, series and number of the MTPL policy, name of the insurance company that issued the policy;

    • Witnesses need: full name and contact phone numbers, other means of communication.

    1. If necessary and technically possible, video record the event or its consequences..

       

    Steps to register and resolve a case

    After reporting the event, to receive insurance compensation due to a road accident: 

    • contact the office of PJSC SK GRAVE UKRAINE with a written notification of the incident with the vehicle;;

    • provide the damaged vehicle for inspection to a representative of PJSC SK GRAVE UKRAINE and the service station;

    • provide PJSC SK GRAVE UKRAINE with the following documents, in accordance with the terms of the insurance contract:

      • photographs of the scene and circumstances of the incident taken at the scene of the incident (if available);

      • Europrotocol (original, if drawn up by hand);

      • passport of a citizen of Ukraine (recipient of compensation under the contract);

      • certificate of assignment of a tax identification number (RNOKPP) recipient of compensation under the contract);

      • driver's license;

      • vehicle registration certificate;

      • power of attorney for the right to represent the interests of the victim, if the applicant is not one (copy);

      • application for payment of insurance compensation (original).

    Important! If necessary, the insurance company has the right to request additional documents and conduct an inspection of the vehicle.
